Internationell solidaritet

AFA Stockholm har haft kontakt med ett antal antifascistiska grupper under vintern i förberedelse för vår intervjuserie som man kan läsa om och följa här. Vi blev kontaktade av twitterkontot Antifa International som undrade om vi ville delta i deras kampanj. De har haft en pågende kampanj sedan mars 2021 där de varje månad säljer en t-shirt till förmån för den aktuella gruppens antifascistiska arbete. Nu är det vår tur! Här hittar ni vår tröja. Kampanjen innefattar antifasciska grupper över hela världen så som Varis, Leeds Anti-fascist Network, The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund, Rose City Antifa och The Resistance Committee för att nämna ett par. De två sistnämnda är med i vår intervjuserie.

Internationell solidaritet är ett av våra starkaste vapen. Historien lär oss att högerns frammarscher alltid möts och slutligen stoppas av vänsterns motoffensiver. Det är så spelplanen är framlagd även nu. Motoffensiven ligger redan och sjuder och ingen vet när eller hur den kommer att ta form, det enda man kan veta är att man kommer vilja vara en del utav den. Så för din egen skull och för andras, hitta dina närmaste kamrater och kör igång.

30 år av antifascism

Nätverket Antifascistisk aktion firar 30 år i september 2023. Vi kommer att återkomma till jubileumet senare under året. 2023 markerar också 10 år efter att Joel dömdes till 5,5 års fängelse för att han försvarat sig och andra demonstranter mot Nordiska motståndsrörelsens(NMR) attack mot en demonstration i Kärrtorp. Trycket på tröjan är från ett foto från Kärrtorp. NMR försökte under den perioden försökt att etablera sig där och i andra delar i södra Stockholm. NMR tappade sitt momentum och ett antal av deras medlemmar av hoppade av. När Joel häktades startades ett stort arbete kring kampanjen Free Joel. En vecka efter Kärrtorp samlades 15000 personer på en manifestation mot fascism.Kampanjen Free Joel blev sedan Föreningen Fånggruppen. Joel var sedan en av de som var med i filmen Antifascisterna som handlar om antifascister i Sverige och Grekland som pratar om hur de med olika medel kämpar mot nazister och fascister. Samtiden är ett helvete, men framtiden tillhör fortfarande oss. Antifascistisk Aktion Stockholm är redo att arbeta med alla som vill forma denna framtid till en socialistisk sådan. Tveka inte att höra av dig.

International solidarity

In preparation for our interview series, AFA Stockholm has been in contact with several anti-fascist groups during the winter which you can read about and follow here.

We were contacted by Antifa International who asked if we wanted to participate in their campaign. Since March 2021 they have had a monthly campaign where they sell t-shirts from various antifa groups to benefit the anti-fascist work of the group. Now it’s our turn! You will find the t-shirt on their website. Follow the link and scroll down to see the full list of groups that participated in the campaign.

The campaign involves worldwide anti-fascist groups such as Varis, Leeds Anti-fascist Network, The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund, Rose City Antifa and The Resistance Committee. The last two are included in our interview series.

International solidarity is one of our strongest weapons. History teaches us that the advances of the right are always met, and finally stopped by the counteroffensives by the left. This is reality today as well. The counteroffensives are fuming, and no one knows when or how it will take shape. The only thing we know is that you want to be a part of it. So, for your own sake – and for the sake of others – find your closest comrades and get organized.

30 years of antifascism

The Antifascist Action network in Sweden celebrates 30 years in September 2023. We will return to the anniversary later on this year. 2023 also marks 10 years after Joel was sentenced to 5,5 years in prison for defending himself and other protesters against the Nordic Resistance Movement’s (NMR) attack on a demonstration in Kärrtorp. This led to NMR losing its momentum and several of their members dropped out. We have therefore chosen a print from Kärrtorp, a suburb south of Stockholm. In 2013, NMR tried to establish itself there and in other parts of southern Stockholm. When Joel was arrested, the Free Joel campaign started. A week after the clash 15000 people gathered to protest against fascism. The campaign became Fånggruppen, a support group for political prisoners. Joel was also one of the activists in the movie Antifascisterna, which is about antifascists in Sweden and Greece who talk about how they fight Nazis and fascists with different means. The present is hell, but the future still belongs to us. Antifascist Action Stockholm is ready to work with anyone who wants to shape the future into a socialist one.
